Sharp Electronics Corporation Technical Writer- Content Development, Instructional Writing in Montvale, New Jersey

Overview

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Learning, Development & Support of the Media Systems Group, the Technical Writer- Content Developer is responsible for training development and delivery for SIICA products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for staying current on product knowledge and software used for development and project creation.

  • Updating and maintenance of MSG/SIICA software products such as MICAS and Sharp Academy LMS by adding asset materials and testing of both interfaces.

  • The Technical Content Developer will participate in the development and review of curriculum and materials used in training, and SIICA’s websites. This includes writing website curriculum and writing and implementing testing materials for E Learning and Instructor led courses.

  • The Technical Content Developer will be responsible for developing an outline for video shoots that include Installation, Maintenance, Adjustments, Simulations and Bulletins and adhere to posted and verbal deadlines.

  • The Technical Content Developer will be sharing the responsibility for proofreading and reviewing all manuals; Service, Parts, Circuit Diagrams & Installation etc.

  • The Technical Content Developer is responsible for maintenance and working condition of the products used for curriculum development.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in electronics or electrical engineering from an accredited college or technical school and 1-2 years of technical training experience in the office equipment industry.

  • Self-motivated with strong creative writing, technical writing, editing, and proofing skills. This individual should be able to edit and proofread content created by other individuals, as well as their own work.

  • Ability to gather and assimilate resources from a variety of sources (i.e., Internet, marketing materials, technical guides) to create curriculum content.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and be able to interface with a variety of individuals to perform job functions.

  • Strong computer skills. Requires above average knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively. The workday and assignments will change frequently depending on internal and external customer needs. A successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility, leadership, creativity, and a drive to rise above average to produce the highest quality work. The candidate must show attention to detail, a command of order, a sense of humor, and a drive for client satisfaction. This person will be encouraged to be original, innovative, and a leader toward projects.

  • Proficiency and understanding of Microsoft Office Professional.
